Cheers, that would be excellent, i understand the operation etc.. just wondering how they set shafts up, and wondering how i can set the coils up
They're a very simple thing actuall, just the snout of an LT95 with actuator, crown wheel from centre diff, and a cast to bolt to the transfer
Also wondering what the perenties had for a handbrake

OK - no worries - you will have to wait a coup[le of weeks until I am back in the country though...

That is a very different beast - rover diff and pinion drive to the 2nd axle. Interesting suspension setup though, looks like it is just a duplicate of the stock rangie suspension for the rearmost axle.

the centre axle pinion is inclined to 2 degree angle, driven by a single peice hooks jointed prop shaft from the transfer box. the rear axle pinion is inclined to 11 degrees and is driven by a two peice prop shaft incorporating a rubber mounted center bearing hung from the chassis cross member and a double hookes jointed rear shaft.
supplementary oil seals are fitted to the inboard ends of the rear axle tubes to accomodate the increased oil capacity which accompannies the higher pinion angle.
standard drum transfer brake is used on the central axle, as on road the 6x6 uses 6x4 (constant 4x4) with the rear not engaged
cheers serg

Im not to sure on the Peranti version but I know the Foley version is very good. They build all those 6x6 Rangie fire trucks ect. Im led to beleive you can buy the adaptor unit. I think its air operated like a diff locker, sort of just switch it on if you want 6x6. im not to sure though and proberly got it arse about face.
But hope it gives some ideas though.

I damn near take you up on that
had an idea my self
The new bloke at work used to stretch trucks and 4wds he recons he can do the metl work Although the stetched rear door glass and roof windows glass may be an issue. I was thinking the rear quaters wouldnt be to bad tow noramal pains so they slide like a cruiser.

are you seeking more traction? Cause if you are, a bloke in Tassie (up near Ulverstone) who has some of the ex-army 6x6s says they are no better off road at all!
PS he wrecks them for the motor (sells that for 5K), and will sell you the rest for 15K.
Hum.

I should be able to get some pics at work tuesday.
And I can say that as they are off road they are worse than the 4x4, the rear leaf packs allow almost no articulation.

Does anyone have the link to the 6x6 that Bill(daddylonglegs)made..
Now that thing had some serious articulation.
