im new+vit

Post by qld zook »

Hey guys just brought this vit of the original "qld zook" as he had great plans but brought a hilux instead. So i will be using his login aswell.

Its pretty stock at the mement appart from a 50mm lift via kings and some (crap) 235\75\15. Im thinking of getting a locker and a body lift+30s when
the tyres on there wear out (only 2000 kms on them so will be a while off)

Just after a few photos of other members vits for a bit of inspirarion as the ones in the members section mostly dont work. Also does anyone have\know of foor racks available for the soft tops.

Thanks.

oh ok thnaks. I notice that you have gone back to 31s after running some larger tyres, did you do this because the gearings better and its easier on the drive train etc.

nothing is easy on the front CV joints when off roading a vit. i went to 33"s for the clearance under the rear diff, but i couldn't get it engineered with 33"s.

but i was allowed to run up to 31"s if i wanted, so i went simex. they measure just under 33" when new, and are still taller than my mates 2 month old 31" swampers.

i have 5.1 diff ratios, and found that 33"s were extremely borderline, but bearable. i could live with the 33"s, but the authorities couldn't.

i drove a 95 soft toop vit the other day, efi, stock as a rock. rev'ed out good, nice and smooth, but my vit on the simexs still goes just as hard, if not harder. i couldn't imagine putting a 6" lift on the 95 model with 31"s, i don't think it would go anywhere at all. maybe the diff ratios are different, but i'm not sure.
