GQ Underfloor Rattle

Post by TassieTroll »

Hey all

I have a horrible underfloor knocking on my GQ Patrol. It's right under the Passengers foot well and is now getting noiser and noiser and I am starting to feel it under my feet in the Drivers side.

I have checked out the Tech Threads, and it's not the floor pan, firewall etc as there are no cracks apparant (the floor pan on the Passengers side looks like it's just out of the factory, welds and all). There is no evidence of movement in the body mounts either!

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to diagnose/solve this problem. It really feels like something is going to fall off!

Thanks

I had the same thing in my LWB maverick. It was b4ecauee I had bent slightly the front cross member and that had meant there was very little clearance between the floor and a few things under there. Have a look and see tha tthe cross member is dead straignt if its curved up a bit. Try sliding some cardboard between the floor and whatever you suspect may be knocking and go for a short drive slide the cardboard out and you will see impressions in it if its been knocking.
