Front Diffs

Post by SimplyPV »

hey guys. i'm jus curious... is it easy to swamp front diffs or is it a difficult task to do? i'm thinkin.. that since i got a spare front diff... i could weld that one an install it in roza, an when i go on really long road trips.. i coul swamp the welded for the stock diff... yes i'm aware that i can drive with the front diff welded as long asi dont have my hubs locked in.. i'm tryin to get around that though. jus curious.

I wouldn't say it is difficult, just a little awkward. Trying to get both cv shafts out is a little tricky.
Clint,

I believe that's exactly what Mike H did when he had his front 'Lincoln Locked' - had a spare open diff in case he had problems with the welded one !!!

Good idea, and it will get you used to pulling the front end apart when you do CV's !!
