MK sd33t - Fuel problem
MK sd33t - Fuel problem
Hey, took my MK LWB out to the beach. Started having fuel problems. first missing then no power. Let stand for a few minutes - started Ok and we went 10m before same symtems - no load rev, max revs at 1,000, eventually dying. any ideas. took off retuen fuel line and blew out ok, the primary pump seemed to have no pressure build up, so tried a few times, not getting a lot of fuel out of injectors when cracked the inlet unions....help.
Hey check out our fuel cut of motor, disconnect rod going to the electric motor and make sure that it is going to the run postion.
My mates was running but could only drive it in low range to move it in his shed, it would'nt rev so we haqd a play with the fuel cut off and hey presto it goes like a shower of S#$T now.

Its more to do with what i put in my tank. no matter how well i filter my vege oil, i cant quite get it all.

I think the fuel cut-off motor previously mentioned is the enig motor on the drivers side of the engine block, there is a round plug near the wiper relay. If you unplug it you will have to install a stop cable, or pop the bonnet every time you need to shut down, that or stall it! It doesn't affect glowplug timer or start up but when you turn the ignition off the motor will continue to run. It may also pay to dissconnect the connecting rod from the enig motor to the fuel line because if it's starving for fuel just unplugging the motor won't correct the position of the valve.
The enig motor stops the Diesel motor by controlling a valve in the fuel supply line, full open for start, standard run (nuetral position) and stop, closed. I had a very similar sounding problem and found I had to disconect it and install stop cable (from a Mack)

Thanks for the tips. I did not look at the fuel control motor, but it does sound feasible. We checked the injectors, etc, when we stopped and it all seemed ok. We broke down middle Stockton beach, so gettign a tow out was not easy - embarassing it was up to a cruiser with mods to tow us out. I shall check the pointers above and let you all know. Did have some trouble with the controller some time ago - but it was more not stopping - took it apart, few sprays and worked well. Will post later
yeah that will probably do itpongo wrote:Patchy wrote:shouldnt always get blocked, i would be draining the tank probably has shit in itpongo wrote:Filters ?, they have a small mesh screen on the intake side banjo bolt on the lift pump. Mine is always getting blocked
