I'm in the market for a late 80 series or cheap 100 series(solid fr axle) and so far I've driven a couple of 80"s with spring lifts. Both the 80's get a body shimmy at hwy speeds over bumps. Is this caused by the increased angle of both fr and rr panard rods due to the spring lift?. I'm guessing the 100's will behave the same.
Anyone with some first hand experiance with this problem pls let me know.

How much spring lift and and were castor corection bushes fitted

Both 80's had about a 4in lift. the one i drove today had the caster correction bushes but the shimmy isn't from the steering wheel. It's like the body jerks sideways when hitting bumps.

I would checkout all the suspension bushes make sure all are ok.

has the 80's got body lifts. if so check the mounts, could be cracked.

Bump steer could be floged out panhard rod bushes possably could be that they need to be longer call mick or bryan at superior 3889 6778 they should know what it is for sure or if some one on here has had the same problem and fixed it they will know 100% what it is another possabilty is worn radius rod bushes (Chassis end) letting one side move back further than the other when you hit bumps it's more likely the panhard rod bushes tho

I had a look under the one today at the panard rod bushes while giving it a shake and there was no movement in either the fr or the back.

Another thing it could posably be is steering dampener so ask how old it had a zook at work doing same thing put new dampener on it and it was 90% gone but i'd still give superior a ring
