Hey guys i put aftermarket engine mount in my shorty and to be honest they did not last very long im now puting genuine one's in i have done the passenger side ages ago but im not looking forward to the drivers side it looks a bit tight any ideas on the best way to tackle it last time i had the intake manifold off cause the carby was getting serviced but i dont really want to go there again but i will if i have too can it be done i have the 4 bolt ones unfortunatley
Ha ha silly me why didnt i think of that. i ended up taking the fuel pump off and the alternator. jacked it up from the gear box and it all went in pretty easy took me about 3 hrs all up i also took my cross member spacers out only 20mm but gees they put some stress on the mounts i might think of another way to fix vibrations.
I put 2 brand new engine mounts in (After market) in my TB42 at the time, both had gone, we jacked the motor up using a bottle jack and the diff (7" Lift helped) well the side with the extractors on took 2 hours to do. the side with the fuel pump took 20 mins to do, go figure.
the exhaust side we could get at with rattle guns and all, it took us like 1 1/2 hours the line the damm f**ker up. the other side, hardest part was getting to the bolt, after that, straight in and go. though after like 2 4x4 trips the exhaust side was dead again
