Missing air duct

Post by Papa_G »

Recently went to fit a snorkel to find that i am missing the S shaped duct from the air filter to the wheel arch to connect to the snorkel.

anyone know where i can find one, or if its easy enough to make a replacement. I have tried wreckers but are apparently as rare as hens teeth.

any help would appreciated

i replaced mine when doing the snorkel with air duct tubing. Available as a ricer product from autobahn, supercheap, repco or what not as a ducting for cold air intake on performance cars. Comes in 3" and about 1m long. Works well for me, and very easy to work with.

thanks for the help mate

i had a look at the gap between the air filter and the body, and dont think that i will get 3" tubing in there. there is currently a gap of about 50mm at the front and 80mm at the rear of the filter. So i guess ill have to try it out with some smaller gear but still cant work out how to connect the round tube into the rectangular hole in the filter

The bonnet scoops are purely just for the intercooler thats mounted on top.
My air filter is currently getting its air just from excess hot air round the engine bay

From what i can gather from various people i have spoken to about this, the S shaped duct that im currently missing is there to drag cooler air from the wheel arches or from around that area anyway.

and i think i might take you up on your offer to help with the fabrication of this snorkel piece haha
