Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi all,

a 97 model 4 cylinder manual Prado, constant 4wd, manual select into High Locked, Neutral, then Low Locked. The transfercase gets stuck in constant 4WD. Attempt to move it out of constant 4WD and the lever is jammed.

Remove the shifter, realign the selector, all shifts OK and feels good. But concerned that it may happen again.

Has anyone come across this problem with the Prado transfercase before and found out why - or how to stop it happening again?

have you tried to reverse a couple of metres and then tried shifting again? Maybe it's wound up if you're running it on bitumen or a hard surface you'll wind it up. A lot of suzi sierras get this problem but their selectors actully just fall outa line. I know lots of guys who can fix without even stopping.
