Steel Belts exposed from ripped tread block

Post by HiluxDave »

I was wondering if i should be worried about this.

I have 33x12.5 mickey thompson fc2s and today i was running my hand around the tire and was pricked by a small sharp piece of metal poking out of the carcass where i had ripped off a tread block.

Is this dangerous?

I look after my tires very well (always air down, rotate regularly etc) but they do see lots of 4wding, but they are not even half worn.

I am a little worried! LCP for easter is only about two weeks away!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Dave.

Without seeing the tyre in question it's hard to say. In real terms
the tyre should be stripped of the wheel and properly inspected.
This kind of damage could be as much, nothing to worry about, or
a huge problem waiting to blow. See your local tyre guy...........
