GU 2" lift - Swaybar link extensions and control arms?

Howdy.

Read lots of posts about fitting suspension lifts (love your work Tiny  ).

I'm going to install a 2" lift shortly to my GU IV and am trying to do it properly - I'm going to the extreme of replacing brake lines with braided hoses, extending the brake proportioning valve (snake racing bracket), caster correction if required, etc.

Question 1: Do people fit extensions to their swaybar links for 2", or just try to reconnect the existing pins? I don't want to go to the extreme of swaybar disconnects or anything like that, I just want to make sure it handles properly on road.

Question 2: I intend to run 33" tyres on 13mm neg offset rims. Currently without lift, they touch the front mudflaps on full lock. Will this improve once lifted, or should I get some spacers to move the front diff forward by 12mm?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tone.

VT? Commodore sway bar links are good for a two to three inch lift. Bolt in.... and cheap. :D

If you want to have a good ride quality on the road make sure you get decent shocks. Depending on where you go also depends on the advice you get. I just had a GQ lifted two inches at Guests in Fairfield and I couldn't be happier with it. I went there on reccomendation from about three others I know that have had suspension done there and have been really happy with it. Saying that though, they are expensive but they use good quality springs and shocks and I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for.

I asked Guests about a castor kit when I got my lift done and they said its not necessary for a 2-3" lift on a GQ/GU. Although ARB will always try to sell you a castor kit if they do the lift. At the end of the day get your lift and if you aint happy with the way it handles after the lift get the extra mods done also.
