well i want to go to coils in the front for approach clearance and all the other benefits of coils. that's a key wish at the moment.
not yet decided on the rear yet but thinking 3/4 link with either coils, or quarter elliptical leaves. 1 good thing about qe is that it allows for lots of up travel compared to helical coils (which still take up a fair bit of space when fully compressed). this would allow me to set a lower ride height, still get decent up travel AND get good down travel too.
hell yeah! why would i compromise on anything less?
just spoke to a different engineer who has now done two volvo projects. he sounds positive and i've sent him off doing background investigation. i worded him up on the strength of the suzuki chassis before he had a chance to be malaffected by the bigger-is-better syndrome. i'm dropping the sierra off at the local volvo expert soon so he can do a feasability survey.

Nice - 5.99 isn't too much lower than my 5.12's so i reckon it should be pretty sweet on the road - just a matter of setting up the body to keep the tyres under flares or something i guess...
I reckon the li'l 1.3 will enjoy the higher revs - which of course you could correct with some bigger rubber
Good luck with this one N*A*M. Many of us have ribbed you about the Volvo's in the past (who me? ) but out of jest. I hope things work out better this time. Keep us informed OK!!?!?
i reread the things i wrote and what other people wrote at the time of the end of the yellow project and just started feeling shitty all over again. kinda really flat and disappointed. this time will be different, i hope. there are people that genuinely care about my projects and they will be part of the inner circle. no offence to anyone, but soon, it will be all secret squirrel. i will be keep details close to my chest. fingers crossed i have the enthusiasm, patience and money to see it through this time.
Sounds like you have thought things through and reasearched for more throughly this time .. Best of luck with it .. hope it all goes well for ya ..
But remember .. get your design in place and try to stick to it .. no more rover plus nissan plus lada plus plus - ford + holden stuff with a hint of suzuki and a pinch of salt season to taste (easy to say I know .. but give it a go .. should be far easier to get engineered if you do)
