I have a pair of axles that i want to use in my hilux.
The only problem is that they are 15mm each longer than my existing ones.
By cutting 15mm off the axles will increase the load on the remaining spline.
In the event of failure, what would brake first, the axle or the spline?

Front or rear diff?
With both the star of the CV and the axel on a shorter contact area, I would imagine that the star would break first.
But I could be wrong

It's the rear axles from a later model hilux. Just not sure what would shear frist, the axle or the spline?

yeah layto's right... when cutting try to do it in a cold saw... if u have access or just take it very slow with a grinder....
if u cant touch the cut after cutting the section its too hot....
just from experience of hardened steel
