High mount winch repairs

Post by Rexlux »

I have found a warn high mount winch going very cheap because apparently the motor is stuffed. Dont know any more than that other than it looks like the internals of the motor may have been messed with/partly removed.

What does it cost to replace the motor (12V) and have a winch serviced?May need new solenoids/wiring also. Do you have to go through ARB to get parts?

New motor 4.6 hp, brake Ohaul kit, one new soloniod and service fee $1060.00 at ARB
Not cheap but then a new one is $2600.00

Rexlux, my winch cost $120ish to service, high mount & out of vehicle. but going on 60serius's prices the winch may only good for spares, motor must be pretty $$$$

I paid $100 for mine the motor was totaly shot .
the new motor was $755 The brake kit $140
the Soliniod $45 and the sevice fee $120
They even sprayed it so it look,s like new and work,s
like new but was still under half the price of a new one
If the cases and internal gears ar allright it is still worth
repairing, but you can find a working one for around $600-$800
and you take the punt on how much life the motor has left.
