In Dirty GQ's example, a 265/75-16 is generally considered a 32 " tyre, but I think it's metric equivalent would be about 31.8. Most M/T tyres would have 10 - 12mm of tread depth, so a bald tyre could easily be 31" (31.8 - 2x10mm)

Tyre sizes are approximate - any number (other than rim diameter) is allowed to be +/- 3%. So a 33" tyre could be a 34" tyre, or a 32" tyre. MOST tyres (not ALL) are "undersize."

Good luck,

Scott

when you put a tyre up against a tyre on a 4BY it will always be higher (given there the same size) asthe one on the 4BY has the load of the truck on it if you want to the hight against each tyre you have to take it of the truck.

ok cool well we were all trying to work out why the 75/16 was so much higher than the 33' inch.
