G’day All
I have a 93 2.8L diesel single cab Hilux. So far, I’ve painted the rims black and installed 6x9’s in the doors. Very happy with both.
I’ve caught the DIY bug (plus I’m a Uni student and do things on a shoe string budget) and would now like to try a DIY snorkel.
Here’s one I found on this forum that I reckon looks pretty good…

If anyone who has pics/info on DIY snorkels please post away. The more info and pics the better.
Cheers.
P.S. I have done a search but couldn’t find any detailed instructions or pics.

here is mine off my fj73
made with 3 inch steel exhaust pipe and flexy rubber hose for the bends, and at the top i cut the pipe on an angle and welded another piece on to make it kick vertical at the top for the attachement of the snorkle head
All up it cost $120: 30 for steel pipe, 40 for flex rubber pipe, 20 big hose clamps, 30 for safari snorkle head from wreckers

yeah stainless is more expensive and that turbo silicon hose i think is around $100+/per meter i think don't know what bends are woth but they look bling also if your in qld, transport dep will probaly be able to defect you because it's "reflective" just like chrome or anodised gauge covers on bonnet or piller.
plenty of parts on the bench
the blue bends are about $70 each and bright polished stainless i payed $80 for 4foot from ebaySic Lux wrote:yeah stainless is more expensive and that turbo silicon hose i think is around $100+/per meter i think don't know what bends are woth but they look bling also if your in qld, transport dep will probaly be able to defect you because it's "reflective" just like chrome or anodised gauge covers on bonnet or piller.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set
