Gday, i was using my warn m5000 winch to pull my suzuki sierra out of a big bog, it started to die (caus it was under too much load) then it got slower and slower then it fiannly stopped. Now it wont work, only the solinoid clicks but the motor doesnt turn. Have i fuct it? Any help would be great thanx

probably sucked some mud/water in. clean the brushes. my starter motor did the same thing, i just pulled it apart sprayed the shit outta it, and put it back together. worked fine.

You could also have burnt out the motor - excessive heat will burn the insulation on the windings and the motor will short - new motor time.

not sure on the motor price, but using a multimeter to check for voltage at the motor terminals, then work your way back to eliminate/isolate the problem.

I had ARB do this for me - the folks at the richmond / abotsford store did a good job...

Had exactly the same prob (contacts clicking and all) with my 8274 when attempting to recover a mate from quicksand. Upon later inspection I found two faults:
1/ Broken solenoid contact.
2/ Broken contact wires.

At very little trauma to the wallet, a local sparky repaired the same. Suggest that you have a wee looksee prior to sending for Service; most minor probs can be rectified by your local sparky.
