Anyone got the goss om raising the gearbox crossmemember between the chasis rails on a GQ.
Had though to weld heavy angle to the inside of rails, cut crossmember down then bolt up to angle.
WHY? im assuming you have done a body lift and want to raise motor too,
the GQ cross member is flush with chassis rails and nothing hangs down anyway. if there is some other reason you want to do this please let us know
The factory mount still hangs down to much. It doe sent provide the nicest thing to slide along. I know Birdy and Shreq both had new transfercsae mounts made. Then I think for the outback they put put on a flat belly plate. Atleast thats what they did a couple of yrs back.
Factory cross member hangs down enough, been hung up on it a few times. Body mounts have been moved up on chasis, front and rear rails modified, and engine mounts will be custom raised items (standard mounts are useless).

yeah makes sense, i guess the bolt heads do hang down a bit, ive bent mine once, but havent really had dramas with getting hung up on it. im guessing it wouldnt be too hard to modify it

Just being able to put a flat belly plate on would help depending on what your driving. I had dents in the cross member of my old shorty and got hung up on it a couple of times. Also had a rock jammed in front of it. Which made it work the winch to get over it.
mine is mafe from 3mm plate 50x50 x6 angle 65x35 rhs sits inside rails n flush on bottum has a 2" engine n gearbow lift to get the transfer inside rails
