i'd say yes it would but if you do get one and like my mates one we just got it had a washer with it to stop the plastic of the snokel folding when it was clamped and it had a piss small hole in it to let air flow so get it spun in a lathe and machine it out till there is about about 10mm of washer left all the way around and it should be fine. When you see one you'll know what i mean

From what I found out when a mate of mine had the snorkel fitted to his 4 runner diesel the washer in the top was supposed to stop an induction whistle that annoyed a lot of people. It was actually a $10 dollar option when he had it done.

Best to run the snorkel and a second intake tube up to the rad support panel to get cold air there...with the option to block it off when offroad...any snorkel will restrict flow and power somewhat....

another option is twin snorkals but that might be over kill.

Twin stainless would be cool and didn't know that about the washer as we got it 2nd hand don't think you'd worry about it if it was v8 so many other noises

i think i may just go 3.5 in stainless, either down the gaurd or through the top of the boonet next to the hinge. then up the pillar , safari would be easier, but dont know whether it going to supply enough air, dont really want to have it sucking from two outlets, then blocking one when 4 wheel driving, that's really when i want it to perform.. cheers guys

hey all,
the Safari snorkel will be fine to install on the 308. you will only need the one. We have people using the standard intake on the 6.5ltr TD chev motors.
The "washer" that you are talking about was installed in the Hilux's because we found that they were getting a little bit of engine resonance out of them. So to fix it we found that you could just put the washer in there. this can be taken out but you will just have a lttle bit more noise.
Im sales manager at Safari this is how i know.
