Post by Screwy »

now i think there is some little u bolts of sorts that bolt the driveshaft to this peice.... im chasing some of these or exactly wat they are and where i can get them from.....

yep common on many Dana diffs. You just need to go to a Driveline Shop.

http://www.driveline.com.au/

These guys will have everything you need. Give them a call tell them what you want and they will have it.

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set

Most older cars (holdens Fords etc) had this style of U-hoint. Basically they look like little u-bolts but the curves section is flattened out to sit fluch in the bearing cap. What sized u-joints are you running in your shaft Jeff? That link POS posted looks like they would easy sort you out :D

The small GQ joints fit into #1350 Dana/Spicer yokes and the big GQ joints fit into #1410 Dana/Spicer yokes. I would guess the MQ joints would be the same size as the smaller (front) GQ unis.
Check one of your joints against the front shaft in a GQ, but that would make sense to me, #1350 yokes would be the right size to be standard equipment on a 205. IF this is correct you just need to ask for 2 sets of straps for #1350 yokes.

it's called a strap kit, spicer do them.
I can tell you for a 1710-1810 series uni you'd need a 2104567018x strap kit, I'm in parts for a trucking mob...

NO THEY DONT. small patrol uni is a RUJ2028 and is 28mm cap X 55.96 wide inside circips .1350 uni is a 5.178X and is 30.16mm cap X 92.08 wide outside circips. large patrol uni is a 901003 and is 32mm cap X 68.2 inside circips and 1410 uni k5GB10R is 30.16mm cap X 106.35 outside circips although these sizes may be close but close enough is not good enough when it comes to uni joints.the unis in your MQ shafts will be RUJ2028s they do convert to 1310 series RUJ2028.13XR which it sounds like your dana yokes are if the 2028s seam to fit but they could 1350 or 1410(unlikely) if their 1310 the u bolt kit you need is a 2.94.28X . 1350&1410 kit is 3.94.18X

You are obviously right, as you know your numbers, but I have seen both these combinations (nissan/spicer) used and the tolerances seem way, way closer than what they would be with the dimensions you have listed??

Just make sure you DON"T ask for straps - or youll get useless weak little bits that need to be bolts to the yoke.
Ask for u-bolts and I would have expected them to be 1310 size.
Give us a yell if you can't find them as I have some on the shelf.
