breather pipe mystery

Post by Tzi »

I just washed under my car and noticed a small pipe dangling down.
I havent got under there for a look yet, but i pulled the pipe back up from the engine bay, and it appears to be a breather pipe, that ends behind the windscreen washer bottle.
The one on the other side is the breather for the front diff... but does anyone know where the one behind the washer bottle goes?? :?

It loops around behind the washer bottle and that's it- nice and high in the engine bay. ;) The other end goes to the gearbox and transfer case.

IIRC the other side is supposed to end in the chassis rail?

Ok, there should be a breather "T" in the top of your gearbox and the pipe goes to one side of that (Top RHS of the box). The other side of the "T" goes to the transfer case breather.

That's from memory after checking mine out after my rebuild.
