Well my rangie is finally back on the road. I've done about 200k's since thge 4.6 went and although im running it quite ricj its got a heap more low down grunt than the 3.9..All Range Rovers should have had these engines!!
No the problem... The fuel gauage only read a 1/4 of a tank when full. I removed the sender and tested in and it fine. I have tested the gauge and it travels through its range nicely.
I guess that only leaves the float. Has anybody else had problems with a "sunk" float?
I think it may be filling with fuel or dragging on the side of the tank?
thanks guys
Luke

Dunno about getting them separately, but I got a new complete sender unit from Paddocks for approx $30 delivered a year or so ago. A bargain, considering Oz suppliers were asking over $100......

It surprised me I could get it so much cheaper than here....but that's the way it seems to be. Too many middle men out here, in my opinion (and the $/GBP conversion , I guess) <shrug>.

Yup, exactly that and the suppliers here create the myth that Rover parts are scarce and expensive. That is BS - ever been to the UK and priced them over there? They are cheaper than just about any other vehicle on the road and parts are everywhere.
So, if the mail cost is reasonable, and it is for samller parts, the price will always be cheaper ex-UK than Aus. We have bought several Disco parts that way. Big objects are not much cheaper though cause mail charges by volume are simply too high. That means that light but bulky objects such as flex-flares cost far too much in mail - basically the mail-man rips you off with these.
