Post by Dozoor »

Just wondering has anybody replaced one in a wj grand before ?

Looks like i got a leaking one , smells like cats pea in the car ,wet pass floor, steamy mist on inside of screen without heater on .

Is the dash wiring fiarly neat under there and plugged or a birds nest ?

anybody know where i might get a cheap new heater core , and air conditioner condenser ,

Thanks for the Offer Sholts .
Nearly rang you last week , there was a bolt under the dash facing striaght up which gave me some grief , and one hidden ten ml in the engine Bay But all was good and not as hard as it looks ;)

So i was quoted $3,900 to replace the heater core and the A/C evaporator Jeep quoted over 2000 just in parts -

New Heater core $425 , New A/C evap $360 . Both items from Jaycar air and purchased through Hornsby auto electrics .

If you do one make sure you clean the inside of the heater box up nice , and check the seals and blend doors while its out , i replaced the top seals and had to wrap the heater core with new seal , these where puchased by the meter at bunnings (household door sealing self adhesive)

One thing left to do shampoo the carpet , :P
