Has anyone put a Gen 111 into a rover/landy?
If so did you buy engine mount brackets or make them?
I can't be stuffed making them.
Oh and Marks don't do them.

The only person to my knowlegde thats done a gen 3 conv on this forum is discokid. Im pretty sure he has one in a defender which he races. I have never seen any mounts marketed and I think discokid may have had rovacraft or one of these perth mobs fab his up. What transmission do you plan on running? Conversions still on the cards fo me....one day

yeh i just saw your post on aulro. Castlemaine do a gen 3 to zf adaptor and thats it. Well thats all they did when i last inquired with them. Doubt a zf could last long behind a gen3 anyway without serious dollars being thrown at it. What you got sounds the way to go. When i eventually go that route I plan on useing the 4l65e (electric t700 with slightly higher torque rating than 4l60e) and beefed up lt230 transfer. Gen 3's are getting so cheap on ebay recently. Seen engines and transmissions for as little as $3500 together

Yep you have to make them
Im getting a spare set made up next week to take on the Oz Safari. They arent hard as we used rover trailing arm bushes to cushion it all and a bit of square tube

Im getting a spare set made up next week to take on the Oz Safari. They arent hard as we used rover trailing arm bushes to cushion it all and a bit of square tube
It holds pretty well as most rovers I race against using jag and rover mounts are always having dramas. I ve had none in 3 years.

Oh yeah and before you decide on the height of the motor and make the mounts fit the gearbox up and see where its all going to fit. The TF727 we put in didnt anywhere near fit and I had fabbed up new floors and tunnel and only just have enough clearance underneath for the front diff to travel up

How much would that guy make up a set of mounts for, would save a lot of hassle putting the motor in and out to get it right.

Advance adaptors who are Marks US agent do mounting plates to shift the mount position back to the small block 350 position.
I posted the part numbers a long time ago , but I think I chucked the magazine when I moved house. 4Wheel Drive and Off Road put a Gen111 in place of a 350 in a Blazer.
But the way to do it is to use the 350 mounts which are readily available and the shift plates.
