hi i am new hear but no knew to 4x4 i have apathfinder suzuki and now a rocsta, i have a few questions about the rocsta though. firstly does anyone know what year mazda matches the motor and or the year i should look for to replace the engine and is there any good replacements?? also i have heard that a wrecker on the gold coast may be good for parts does anyone know which wrecker that is???? thanks your help is appreciated ;)

hey mate i did alot of reasearch on this when i was looking at buying one.

mazda motors that fit r most early 1.8's 2.0 and 2.2's fit. and i've heard mazda 2.6. efi motors and posibly 2.5tdi. there is a guy on here that has put a 2.6 astron motor in his and said it flew. and there is the kia sportage 2.0 efi wich i know bolts up and makes good power.

aparently the gc 4wd wreckers have some parts but a rocsta is made of so many diferent parts it's posible to scavenge stuff of other makes

hey i know this sounds dumb but most of the mazdas i have looked at are front wheel drive and i guess they wont work ie water pipes in wrong spot and different mounts can anyone give me an idea about which make model and yaer i should be looking for ?? also if i upgrade to efi how difficult is it to convert ? and do i need a mod plate??

a mazda bravo and kia sportage are north/south facing motor so it's all the right spots. u will have to get it mod plated but i'm prety sure the kia motor will bolt strait in and i duno about efi depending who u know.

thanks for the info guys i am wondering if anyone knows what the original motor is also ie which model make mazda it comes out of also does anyone know how much a kia motor is also where to get 1 and how reliable they are. is the mazda motor an f series????? basically looking for something to through in to keep her going or to rebuild this one and need to know what parts etc.
