Did a stupid thing - coax cable

Post by tumoit »

I just did a stupid thing and cut a wrong cable, which happens to be the coax to my UHF.

Just wanted some advice as to how to rewire back to the aerial end.

Its a GME 4702.

Thanks

i agree, you did a stupid thing...

go buy a cpl of coax joiners, and just join the 2 cut ends back 2gether that way... unless you cut right at the base of the ariel... then i dunno how ya would do it, i aint a sparky...

Im pritty sure you need a special tool to get the base where the coax joins into the antenna.
I would do like what macca81 said and get two connectors, The small phone ones are nice and slimline FME-101 and FME 120 then join it back together. if its too close to the antenna best off to go see a dealer

just buy some rg58 from jaycar or whatever and rerun it all. dont bother with conectors as you will get too much loss.
im guessing its just a 5w radio your running?
