Wheel nut with key lock?

Driving the other day i saw a boxy old 4wd with a wheel nut that had a key lock on the spare tyre carrier. i didn't catch the make but at a guess i would of said patrol (wasnt a landcruiser or jackaroo though could be wrong)
Got me wondering if it was oem equipment and if the thread was the same as the suzuki's.
If so it might make a tiny project for changing the tumbler and onto the spare wheel
Anyone know about these, where they are from blah blah ?

I have one on my Bundera, I purchased it new from Toyota when I was building the car in the early 90's.
It could be easily helicoiled to suit a zook (if the zook thread is available as a helicoil insert)

just go to your local auto parts shop. I saw one today it fits over any stock nut(up to 20mm long) and takes a key. Cost = $5.75

Much easier to knock a stud out of the wheel carrier and, go to yota purchase a wheel stud and pop that in the place of the stud you removed.
If you do install one of those locks keep it well lubricated to ensure it does not rust on there solid .. the brass key does not make that great of a lever to try to make it move.

padlocks are harder to get off...
A well placed impact socket will usually remove those stud locks with not much hastle...

most people dont have an impact wrench when they are waliking down the street, just as likely to have bolt cutters ;?)

Most people waling down the street dont have spanners to under the other nuts that are keeping your rubber attatched to your truck either ...
Most pleople would not steal your chit even if it was not bolted down .. but there are scumbags out there that when it is time for new rubber ... a set of boltcutters and an impact wrench is way cheaper than new tyres ..
