I was wondering if anybody has any experiences with fitting Dobinsons shocks to their vehicles, particularly Defenders.
I am about to replace the springs and shocks on my 2003 Defender 90 and I think that I have the springs all sorted at the moment. I am going with Kings Springs front and rear which should give me around a 40mm lift.
I haven’t decided on which shocks to use yet though hence this question. I was leaning towards Bilstein shocks but I think that they may be a little too firm for the 90. I know that I can get them re-valved to the comfort setting but I really can’t justify the extra expense after paying over $700 for the shocks in the first place.
So now I’m looking at the Dobinsons shocks which retail for around $440 for all four. I have heard that these are also valved quite firmly but haven’t heard all that much about them, so any advice, opinions or experiences with these shocks would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
