In the process of rebuilding my front diff.
Have sourced a wheel bearing kit through Supercheap for $30.
Repco wheel bearing kit = $50.00
Repco Swivel Hub rebuild kit left and right $118.00
Does this sound right?
Can anyone advise me of the best place to get this stuff?
Do i just need a wheel bearing kit x2 and a hub rebuild kit x2?

I get all of my stuff though a Bursons trade account. From memory, I did a patrol last, and they told me they didn't have the swivel kits, and then they came out in a Bursons flyer on sale for around $150ish, THEN, next month they were on Super Sale for about $80-90. No idea what the wheel bearings cost though. (Just did my sierras back ones for $50).
And yes, you will be a fully qualified grease monkey after doing this. It is about the most hated thing i have had to do. There are some threads on doing this, but here's a few of Coxy's Hot Tips:
- Have PLENTY of rags ready - and petrol to wash your hands often
- Wash/degrease the front end of all dirt/mud/grease BEFORE starting
- Lay out a tarp or sheet if your doing it over concrete
There are three ways to do it: 1) Pull it to bits,slap new parts in, pack in some more grease; 2) Pull it to bits, wipe it clean, reassemble, pack with grease 3) Dissasemble, completely wash and dry all parts, inspect all parts, reassemble using all new grease.
From memory i've done a few hiluxs that had a brass axle bushing (it has a "rifled" bore), and this was slighly warn, causing premature failure of the axle seals. Check this, and replace if necessary. Not many people i know do this - but if you plan on keeping the car......
Also - buy a Gregories manual or similar - vary handy.
