vit roof

Post by want33s »

I saw one on a Vit last week. I only noticed because it is the same brand as the one on my Sierra. FREEMAX Ph 07 208 9706. Thats the number on my canopy but its years old and the numbers have all changed.
I did a quick google for FREEMAX but found nothing.
It is my first fibreglass canopy so I can't really compare it to anything but it doesn't leak, has sliding glass windows in each side and a glass in tailgate. Fibreglass is extra thick around the hinges and corners. There is a lip on the upper tailgate that is locked shut by the lower, so still the one catch.

Please forgive my misdirected criticism of your post, it is indeed a different subject and will teach me to read the posts more closely.

Flexiglass deleted the Vitara canopy some time ago. No more moulds.

fibreglass top

Post by want33s »

I saw another one today... It had "TOURERTOP" badges on it. Don't know any more as it was in traffic and going the other way.

tourertop used to be sold through tjm stores...dunno if they still sell them, ive heard they are suposed to be pretty well made?

as cj said, flexiglass used to make them here but deleted them and started importing the protop from canada

ive had one for ages now, fits really well, no leaks, and pretty good at stopping the dust coming in. you might have to give flexiglass a call see if they still sell them, they would be over 2 grand for a new one tho

bestop used to have one aswell

That one looks very neat- heaps better looking than the flexiglass version.

The Protop is definitely the best of them. I would love to get hold of a front section. They used to sell them separately but they are currently unavailble at the moment in the US.
