Diff Breathers

Post by me3@neuralfibre.com »

Is it worth extending the diff breathers in the 100 Series? They are up moderately high already, and have a valve to seal against water ingress. I looked at it on the weekend, and whislt it 'can" be done, it don't know if it's needed.
Keeping in mind I did cape york (water over bonnet style) without a snorkel, Toyota water sealing is pretty impressive.

I also noticed the gearbox breathers go up to the gearbox filler pipe, but dont actually go inside it. They simply attach to the side and breathe from under that little cover. Not the best solution.

A mate of mine is looking for how to extend his breathers on a manual FZJ105R GXL...

We've both extended the diff breathers already - for about $20-40 in parts and hose etc, it's cheap insurance.
