300 TDI Vacuum pump oil leak!

Post by lariens »

My vacuum pump is leaking oil out, where a side cover is pop rivited on.
New ones are expensive! Can it be drilled apart and resealed?
If I go to the trouble, will it last?

What to do!!!!!

Yes they can be rebuilt for next to nothing, you drill out the rivets and make a gasket and seal and bolt it back together, search on AULRO as there is a write up on there with pics.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

OK I had go after reading the other web site.
Luck there was pictures because when I opened it up there was a flat washer floating around in side! End up being a support / spacer for one of the valves, hit it back in and added loctite sealant. Hopefully no more leaks!!!!

Thanks for the info direction.
