Lost 4th gear - What did I do?

Post by Fearhoza »

Was fitting a transmission seat ring today in the feroza. Everything was running smoothly. Had to drive it into town minus the rubber and plate that covers the two shifters. All fine too. Got home, fastened everything up... Now no 4th gear... just a nice crunchy metal teeth sound.

It came back a little on the trip home just then, but after successfully shifting, if you push it more into the gear you get the crunching sound.

Immediately im thinking synchro.

The only other bolt i undid was ONE bolt on the plate covering the transfercase lever. I did this to fit another bolt in, then without moving the car, did it back up. Could this have dropped the mesh?

any way i can fix it? :/
