Howdy,

I'm thinking about turning the GQ's aircon pump in an air compressor and use a tank etc.

I'm just wondering if the std one will pump enough air. How do I work out how many pistons the std pump has.

More pistons apparently make it more efficent, Is this correct.

I dont really want to stuff around making brackets and stuff so I would prefer to use the std one.

Thanks heaps for ant info anyone can give me I have searched but cant find an answer, Its seems most people use a saden one

Cheers Nick

I know somone who tried this and it didn't work too well. He ended up scrapping the whole thing. It can't supply enough pressure into your reserve cylinder to maintian pumping up you're tyres quickly. It wasn't even good enough to use with an air gun to blow out dust and crap out of the engine bay.

You'd be suprised what volume of air is required to maintain sufficient pressures for your usages. If you want to know more about the pump itself speak to an automotive air-condiditoning work shop also.

Sorry for the negative feed-back.

Cheers,
