Converting a MQ Sd33 24 volt

Converting a MQ Sd33 24 volt
wondering if I put my other motor in it which is a SD33 Turbo and just change the Alternator and Starter motor, because they are 24 v so I can keep all the wiring and dash in.
question is will a 24volt Alt or Stater motor fit on a SD33T motor
thanks

I helped a mate do a conversion to a 24v Turbo diesel in his MQ and we ended up changing the wiring loom to suit and everything else in his car. But we already had the wiring loom to do it so was pretty easy.
06 Grand Vitara Prestige, 2" lift, Kumho A/Ts, ARB winch bar, snorkel, spotties. Also a Regal 2150 LSC Volva Penta 350 gsi duoprop, and a kayak ;-)
They're earthed through the head, so can't be wired in series.chimpboy wrote: Another option might be to just rewire them so that they are in pairs, in series.
What's involved in a complete conversion?
Besides engine related components what else is there? Lights, interior lights, dash lights, glow plug controller, injection pump controller, blinker/hazard cans, windscreen wiper motor, heater fan, change fuse values to appropriate 12v ones...
Never looked at an MQ/K specifically, but some 24V vehicles use lighter wiring throughout, since you have half the current (for the same power) with double the voltage. But really you want to run a new loom and some relays for your headlights (for example) anyway... starter motor you have to deal with, but the vast majority of the other stuff draws stuff all power anyhow.festy wrote:They're earthed through the head, so can't be wired in series.chimpboy wrote: Another option might be to just rewire them so that they are in pairs, in series.

It would definitely be a fair bit of work though, and you'd be bound to forget at least one thing in the process
