gas strut for OL spare wheel carrier

Post by ash_on_mtb »

I've got a OL spare carrier on the rear of my 80 and it swings around like a :bad-words: . ITs got some tabs about the right position for a gas strut - does anyone know if they ever came out with them, or if not where I can get one in SE MElbs...??

What measurements would I need to provide? Anyone ever retrofitted something else to the carrier that worked? Do OL sell a replacement or whatever?

cheers.

Just measure the distance between the tabs with the carrier open and closed and go to Autobarn or other auto parts place and find a strut that fits, or even one from the wreckers.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.
