ram assist steering

is anyone using or bought a ram assist kit in australia?
If so where from?
Or is it cheaper buying a ram and hoses seperate?
ram is- 1.5 inch bore and 6 inch stroke with a 3/4 inch rod
Have seen them for sale in USA for $180 US

I have got one from Ian Boettcher Race parts in Ipswich. Cant remember what I paid for it, but $180 sounds like a good price.

Cars have been engineered with them fitted as they do not remove the mechancial link to the wheels. (certainly here in vic)

It would be subject to a road test of course, but it can be made legal.

Um, ram assist is just plumed into your existing power steering, and is used when your existing power steer is inadequate.

Not sure what you had in mind.

I have a range rover power steer box and ram and all the plumbing for sale, what are you putting it into? And what are you wanting to do with the car road use or offroad only?

lux still regoed for 3rd party insurance for comps but still driven on road just to get to local trails. You can have a disconnect pin on the ram to pull it off your steering arm so it does not affect on road steering.I worked out prices and it is cheaper to source the ram and hoses myself and do the porting.
