Can't believe it but the latest addition to the Navrun family is ready. Been a veeeryy big 2 weeks building it. Bought '90 Maverick wagon cheap off dear old Dad (he bought it new) - 2 years ago he wrote it off and been off the road since - new radius arms, new steering arms, new Front Diff - thanks to Evil the new diff is bent too :bad-words: 2 x diff locks, suspension, 35's, body lift, uhf, FX324, fat bar, Hi Mount, triple batteries, new up to date gas system, new projectional head lights, HID spotties (on 4 to U) rear spring retainers, drop boxes, new panels, the list goes on. Let's say the nights have been long, lonely and cold out in the shed... And found out that it had been officially written off and needed extra clearance with Vic Roads

Thanks to
On 4 to U for the HID's and projectional lenses
Blackburn Nissan - panels
Don Kyatts and the mid night visits with parts and assistance
Greg at Smithis Outback for the welding and LPG tank
Terry at Ultra Car Care in Hastings for the LPG converter, gas lines and tuning
Kruiser Dude for covering for me in the shop
Donna at Vic Roads - took some major flirting and she soaked it up.
Mrs On 4 to U for buying my food
Daniel at Silverstone for the 35" extremes
Rog for the Second Airs and Dynamica Rope.
Shane at Wombat for the use of his workshop.
My wife and kids for putting up with a grumpy asse dad for 2 weeks
My boss at work for putting up with me getting to work late and leaving early when he wasn't watching...

Sunday I pack the camping gear and we head off after lunch with the Schafer clan. Will be stopping of at Hay for sleepover and then cruise on to Cootawundi by lunch on Monday. SS building commences Tuesday.

Already had many phone calls with Jeff (property owner) and Marshal meetings to discuss the agenda. Fuzzy TV coming again. Would be good to get some in car footage so if you are thinking of mounting a camera, please do it.

Hobzee here, reporting from Cootawundi. Internet very slow but there all the same.

All but 3 stages are done. So far only 1 repeat from last year and 1 from the year before. A bit more winching this year. Overall standard is harder (no more dangerous) but then we are all in the one tough class so you are up to it. This year will sort out ground anchors and winch motors and tyres and suspension. Doodle wanted you to have a break - I'l break'em I said - no breaks. Competing every night except Friday and all day every day.

This year there is no zero car and no one knows what is coming up. Agenda will tell you how long and where and if you will be back for lunch.

Kev is already off to a huge start from the West Darling Hotel. We have gas hot water showers and ElGas have donated $1000 of gas.

Hobzee - 0414 462 386 - Go the wet T shirts ...

Just a quick note - we are following CCDA rule book for competition rules. Any supplementary rules will be announced at briefing. But the following can be announced now -

A live cable is one that is hooked up, slack or not. No touching a live cable. If you want to wind up slack under tention then dont hook it up.

Scoring splits will not be 2 points per position. By CCDA scores, just 1 DNF will put you out of the running totally. Each stage will be worth 200 points. 10 point breaks for top 3 then 5 point breaks between positions. A DNF point will be declared at each stage briefing and a DNF is worth 20 points.

Spoke to Steve yesterday, sounds like they have been having loads of fun setting up.

He asked me to pass on a message about fuel prices,
wilcannia $1.56
White cliffs $1.41

for those of you who need to fill your tank it may pay to drive the extra 20km into white cliffs.

we are heading off now to Hay for the night where we are catching up with Danni & Rob, Troy boy and Steve and Sharon.

see you all there.

T-Shirt weather here, clear skies and very green.

Weather for the week looks promising- no rain, a little cooler and that's it.
