If this is the case, then can an engineer approve the changing of the tyre placard? If not, why not... after all the QLD DOT mod plate has a field for tyres......
if it isn't specified anywhere it needs certain engineer approval to change a tyre placard I have some liquid paper and a texta...

Seriously after reading all the crap and paying good money for a dodgy 10 year old reprint..... (newest version according to goprint) why is this such an issue in QLD... considering all the related mods... gearing, engine capacity, speedo calibration and brakes are all adressed... why can we chop the sh1t out of our chassis and get that approved but then get told "oooooooh can't go more than +15mm in tyre size"?
Except for the tyre & rim combo not being on the tyre placard there is no reason at all why this cannot be allowed, if the tyre meets load ratings, speed ratings and the like.
Is there some insidiuos puppet master behind the scenes or have people just not bothered to question this one?
