How small is the spring and filter and how do I get it out, I know where it is and what has to be undone but I don't want to lose the frigen things if I take them out.

there is no spring.. You undo the banjo bolt on the inlet side of pump, and look inside you will see the filter - if your car has one. They dont all have it. My 03 model does not.
YMMV.

Ooh ok sweet, that might be why I can't see it lol, if there is one, how far down into the hole is it located, just after the banjo bolt I guess ay

Mine has a spring and the filter.
Easiest way I have found to remove it is get a piece of electric wire (ie 4mm) and strip it about 5 mm at the end. Then fray the wires back on themselves like a squid hook, push it lightly into the hole until it stops then pull it out. I nothing comes out, you don't have one.
To remove the wire from the filter just twist it to close the frayed wires and should pull straight out of the filter (after removal from the pump obviously)
