The 65 series extra cab lux's have stuff all 'extra' cab space.
Can't you get LN106 (or equivelent) with extra cab???

Mate if your keen, get the hilux you want in a single cab, and do a body swap to the extra cab body you want. Don't know if all body mounts will line up, you will need a shorter tray too, but it shouldn't be a severe job.
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.

Not with a solid front.
Only IFS.
I had a 97 LN111 extra cab.
It all depends what you want to do with it. The IFS front in mine copped a beating and held up OK. I busted a crownwheel (with 33" tyres) but once I fitted an airlocker to the front it was fine(with 35" tyres).
Bent the steering a couple of times, a couple of idler arms (but then fittted a heavy duty one to fix it) and a relay rod once.
Never did a CV.
That was with heavy use including a couple of comps. Have a look at my website for pics.

But yeah Im the first to admit IFS is not the best choice for full on hardcore use but with twin lockers it will certainly keep up with most other fourbys and drive past lots of them.
In one comp I came second only to a zook buggy running long travel coil suspension and 38"s.
Paul.

Paul - Looks like very capable rig and looks good as well. I supose i'll just have to do the sums of modding an IFS vs modding Solid Axle and go from there.

Thanks for the reply

Forgot to look today so i'll try remember to look for it monday.
Could do one of these
http://www.trail-gear.com/sas.html
If your set on having a ifs model lux with a leaf frontend that works check with a engineer in your state first but.
also could put a bundera front coil set up but alot of this is if you want to do alot of the hard stuff like Ausyota said twin locked they go ok, so how deep are Your pockets :D

yeah.... my pockets aren't that deep - nice kit though.

Will probably ultimately come down to whether the handbrake wants a double cab or not. If im forced to go with a double cab i'll just go pre 97

I designed and made most of it myself.
Had a little help from my cousin who is a metal fabricator on a couple of bits like the main hoop.
