Diff pinion/bearings prices?

Post by DAAS KAPITAL »

Anyone know how much roughly to get rear diff pinion bearings done??

My rear diff has lots of freeplay where the driveshaft bolts on the diff. I`m guessing it is the pinion bearings but i`ve got no idea what a diff looks like pulled apart or mechanically how they work.

Got a rough quote from a diff place of $300 to do bearings/seals etc if i remove the center & take it in but i`ve also got brakefluid leaking from inside the drum on the left wheel.

It will probably be cheaper to buy a good second hand diff??? but then i`ve got to get one with a good center & brake condition.

Any thoughts??? Is $300 about right.

Daas.
better than a bought one.

might be able to find a good rear diff for under $300, the rear brake slave cylinders you are takling about should be around $45 each,
some people sell a good diff for $250 $300, but usualy not with brakes.
I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.
