Hi-pinion diff
Can anyone tell me if i can get 4.88 diff ratio in a hi-pinion that will fit into a hilux around 1986 model
Some of the Bunderas came out with 4.88 hi pinion front.
Otherwise you can get a 4.88 gear set to go in a hi pinion aftermarket.

It will just be running on the coast side of the gears instead of the drive side when fitted in the back. Which means it will be weakerwhen used in the rear.Tapage wrote:I thought those HP are reverse cut .. if you put in the rear it gonna track in reverse ?
Also as posted above because the diff is spinning the opposite way to normal you may need to modify the oil slinger that throws oil up at the pinion bearing.

yap .. itmake sence ..Sic Lux wrote:They turn front wheels foward so when put in the rear it'll just be the same as putting a rear diff centre in a lux up the front which still results in the same direction of movement of the vehicle make any sense

No if only it was that easygom11k wrote:I still haven't found a hi pinion diff.
So if i buy after market reverse cut ring and pinion (8") can i fit them to my hilux diff centre and just turn the diff upside down
with a H/P in the rear the crown wheel will throw enough oil to the pinion
