How to check if my fuel sender is getting power ?

Post by CWBYUP »

So neither guage in the GQ works, Thats cool I searched and worked out how to change it and the part no. etc.

The thing thats got me is how do you tell if the sender is getting power and its not the guage itself ?

I dont want to replace both senders and find out its the guage.

Cheers Nick

touch your tongue to the wires, which ever one zaps thats the one thats working. :D

Don’t try this at home kiddies, its a joke and I don’t have much so don’t bother suing me when you do try it. Because we know you will as you’ll think to yourself “how painful could that possibly be, I like the tingly feeling I get when I do it with a batteryâ€

the best way to test it is find out witch wire is for the sender unit and then put that wire to earth and with the ignition on and if the guage goes all the way up to full while it is earthed it means your sender is faulty if it does nothing it means you have a wiring or guage problem. understand?
