Talking to andrew at on track the only a auto box will work at 300kw. The clutches can't handle the power. Problem is with this turbo idea is the money. I think the better idea is sandy bowmans truck which i think is a 4.8 non turbo, it was at ateco and it flew. Sounded like a v8. The money spent on these engines is amazing

that was GQHOON's green middy. it was at ateco,4.8 stock standard appart from motec. it had 120rwkw, thats it. cost to buy was about 7k inc motec (from wreckers) , its getting turbo done at the moment.

yeah and pete (GQHOON) just took his tb42 turboed, motor out and put that 4.8 in. give it time, i wouldn't be surprised if the turbo work is getting done at the moment. it'll be a similar setup to andrews 4.8.
sandy bowman runs a turbo diesel. he was in the red shorty with the red windows.

no just running rich, had a few bottles of octane booster but didnt do anything. race fuel no good for naturaly aspirated, bit of response thats about it. only gets good performance with boost

I tuned Petes car the Friday morning of the ATECO and I can assure you those figures are correct and no fancy fuel, just BP Ultimate.

how about this for a comp truck engine, i came across it one day but for the life of me cant remember who makes it. basically its a stroker kit for the 4800, that strokes it out to 6L, imagine having a 6L straight 6 with a big fat charger on it

mmmmm hello horses

You can buy a 441 CI LS7 straight out of the USA for under 20k, light, tons of torque and that great V8 note.

That wasn't sandy's truck. i believe the navvy owns it and sandy offere to rebuild it after ateco if he let him drive. after the way he drove it you'd want him to be rebuilding it too

Or you can do what I've done. Turboed VH45. Yesterday it achieved 216rwkw with 10psi at 5000 rpm on 35 Simex. It will rev to 7300 but due to ecu problems we could go past 5000, couldn't tune it etc so it appears once the ecu is replaced with an Autronic, 300rwkw will be achievable. And I bought the motor in a car running for $2000! Get manifolds made, fit turbo, ecu, intercooler etc. Pretty cheap HP and a big rev range. It was making good boost at 3000 rpm and peak power is expected at 6000 (cams). So it should have an easy 4000 rpm power range. Did I mention it is about 140kgs lighter than the TD42 I replaced!
All up it has cost under $15,000.
