recently bought a hj47 that hasn't been driven in a while and has no resistance on the clutch pedal and i assume the plate is stuck.
i tried giving crank in various gears by the starter motor to get it unstuck but to no avail.
is there an easier way to get this fixed than taking out the transmission.
i.e. give it a pull by the tractor in gear or something.
or could it be the master/slave cylinder? The slave doesn't move when depressing the clutch pedal - or so my mate lying under the car says.

At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.
Why not keep it simple as you can .. start with he master/slave ..
Bleed and check if you see movement in the slave fork to the press plate .. if you do ( the movement and it's enought then start thinking in the tranny )

your clutch slave should move when pressing the pedal..
is there any loss of fluid?
i ve just recently changed master/slave clutch cylinders.. and noticed it took a few goes to get all the air out.. the slave piston still mved when you pressed the pedal though..
its pretty easy to change.. $45 for slave cylinder and $65 for master cylinder.. both new..

pulled a master cylinder out of a hj60 wreck and the piston for the slave too. and got it working. Bleeding was real quick too. very happy!
and a note for everyone be careful getting the piston out the slave cylinder using an air compressor. As i made a weapon of mass destruction and lost the piston across the other side of the shed.
