I would like to know as well,
I have got a rivet stuck in the drain hole on the bottom of my dizzy
but it still coughs and splutters after water holes, river xings.
hate to say it, because i cant search either but...... SEARCH. it isnt in toyota i think but there was a big discussion about waterproofing. some of the comp guys got in on it and gave some good answers.....
rubber glove
vaseline
silicone
or ultimately, either dont do water or just live on 5 cylinders for a few minutes while it dries out
fill me in with this info to! i have the same problem, ive heard u just spray wd-40 all over the dizzy and electrical areas before u go in a water hole, but yeh gotta be something better.
I compete in my 80, 4.5 petrol, take your dizzy out and you will find 3 holes in it, block 1 of them with a bolt or srew, get an air fitting i used an ARB one and tap the other hole to take the fitting and run air to it, leave the smaller 1 at the bottom open so you don't actually pressurise the dizzy or you'll blow the cap apart, this is what i've done and i spray everything electrical with silicon spray before water stages, seems to work fine for me.

yep that's all I did, ran a breather hose down from the dizzy and basically sealed it in there with Sikaflex. Had no problems since. You can't block it off though as it needs to breath and get rid of heat.
my current set up is a bit of rubber hose coming out of the dizzy.. also spray some silicon spray an use Lanatec spray ..... but i think the air set up is the GO
