Valve stem seals?

Got a BP1800 ,overhead twin cam, 16 valve Mazda motor that needs valve stem seals done.
Is there a way to replace these without taking the head off?

compress the cylinder with air, or place rope in the cylinder with a bit hanging out wind cylinder up, so valve doesn't drop, and with spring compressor remove collet and retainers, etc.

when using air do it with piston up and 100psi is heaps but only safe on manual so u can lock up motor by putting in 4th gear

grab them with pliers and grip GENTLY, and prize under the edge with a screwdriver to get it moving. the new ones should push on with just hand force.

It will be r/r cams, buckets, shims and springs to get to the seals. You will probably need the right tool to remove the valve collets as well. Just make sure everything stays in order and you cant loose.
