2" lift with standard shocks

Post by Boss »

Is it possible to put 2" lift coils on a GU ute with standard shocks, as I don't wanna dump all the money in at once.

Cheers

you can do anything you like. it wont work since you shocks will be stretched before you even go near offroad.

hey, ive got a 2 inch lift in my gq and the rear shocks are the same length as standard (wrang up to confirm this was right and it was), and they work fine with no probs. On the front you will have problems, when I first got the lift I was given standard length shocks and they were WAY too short, topping out on speedbumbs  So in answer to your question the rear yes you can, the front not really as it will limit travel a lot and give you the shits (loud bang when they top out).

I'm running 2" springs in my GU with original shocks. Works fine :finger:

Just remember to get the 2" extra wheel travel you need new shocks.
