Hey all,
Did a search and cannot find anything. Does anyone have a list of the option codes on the Rodeos.
My plate has the following
C41 ED2 ES5 FE2 FG3 G80 K97 S3B V46 6UX 7TM.
Wondering if any of these may indicate an alternator option. Need to find out what size Alternator I am running.
Cheers

Got 1
G80 is LSD.
The alternator on the 2.8 tdi is only 55amp I think, nothing big at any rate if you dont count the price.

Guzzi,
Thanks for the code. Not valid now anyway as I threw th LSD out and replaced it with an ARB Air locker.
Now the alternator has got me curious. a Holden Maintenance CD manual states that that it is an 80Amp. An Isuzu workshop manual (one that was circulating the forum some time ago) has the 4JB1T with either a 40 or 50 or an optional 80 Amp.
I might ring up an auto sparky and see what they say. And yeh.. I have heard that the price is rediculous.
Cheers

Yeah,
my manual states 40 or 50 amp @ 5,000 rpm, hopefully thats the alternator rpm not the diesels..............
If you find an 80 amp with the vacuum pump let me know where and how much.

Imagine if a diesel could run at 5000 RPM (on that note what actually limits how fast a diesel can rev).
But.... just for interests sake..the workshop manual states that the engine speed ratio is 1:1.85. If my maths is correct that would mean that you would get maximum current output at around 2,700 RPM.
This means that I would rarely get maximum output as in 5th gear at 100Km/h I am only doing around 2,200 RPM with my 285's on.

An alternator doesnt need to be doing maximum rpm to put out its maximum. Hook up you multimeter to your battery and start up the engine. Once your doing about 1000prm it will be putting in the max volts (14.4) anyway.
